Ella Bohn

Ella Bohn, 93, of Benton Harbor, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Millburg Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bridgman High School Athletic Department or the First Church of God, St. Joseph. She graduated from Millburg School and on December 6, 1937 married Albert Bohn in Benton Harbor. Ella enjoyed softball in her younger years, playing on the Remington Rand Girls team which went on to become State Champion in 1937. She was employed at Remington Rand for twenty-five years and for fifteen years at Universal Looseleaf which became Univex. Ella loved her family, sports and spelling, and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Ella is survived by her children Barbara (Jack) Leisz of Bloomington, IN, James (Connie) Bohn of Sister Lakes, Janet (Harry) Groth of Bridgman; seven grandchildren-Scott (Greer) Leisz, Jeffrey (Heidi) Leisz, Kevin (Sharon) Bohn, Denise (Eric) Stewart, Jessica (Joshua) Pennington, Rebecca and Tyler Groth; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother Alfred Lindemann of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert on November 27, 1995, her sister Caroline Lindemann, and by ten brothers-Louis, Cullen, Adolph, Elmer, Robert, Fred, Ernest, William, Edward & Otto Lindemann.
