Warren's Obituary

ST. JOSEPH – Warren J. Skoda, 52, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at his home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 1:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St. St. Joseph, MI. The arrangements are with Starks and Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. All memorial donations should be made to the family. Friends wishing to sign the family guestbook or to leave a message may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Warren was born July 19, 1958 in St. Joseph, MI to William and Ada (Bucher) Skoda. He married Joan Derrick on July 24, 1993 in Dowagiac, MI. Warren attended St. Mathew's School in Benton Harbor and was a graduate of Michigan Lutheran High School Class of 1975. He attended Michigan State University and was an avid Spartans fan. His career in the Steel Industry spanned over three decades. He was the strucural steel engineer on many local projects such as Shadowland Pavilion. He loved hunting and fishing and his time spent outdoors brought him closer to his Creator, Savior, Spirit. Warren is survived by his wife, Joan, daughter, Dana (Ryan) Hurst of Midland, MI, mother, Ada and brothers, David (Tracey) Skoda of Baroda and Michael Skoda of Berrien Springs. He was preceded in death by his father, William, brother, John and aunt, Joyce Bucher.
