Robert J. Broadwater

Robert Broadwater, 63, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Those wishing to sign the memory book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Robert was born February 11, 1947 in Benton Harbor, MI to John & Carrie (Walker) Broadwater. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1965. Robert served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 until 1968. On December 20, 1969 he married Joan Pagel in Benton Harbor, MI. Robert owned and operated Broadwater Auto Sales in Coloma for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his wife Joan Broadwater of Plymouth, MI; son Robert (Jodie) Broadwater Jr. and grandson Nolan Broadwater of Canton, MI; daughter Robin (D.J.) Loveall of Columbia, KY; two brothers John (Debbie) Broadwater of Dorr, MI and Richard (Diana) Broadwater of Dallas, TX. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
