Virginia's Obituary
Virginia L. Miller, 88, of Watervliet, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at The Willows in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph with Rev. Roy Jeffery officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call beginning at 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Virginia was born October 29, 1921 in Blackrock, Arkansas to Jim & Mary (Park) Billings. In 1939 she married Emery Troy Smith in Pohatan, Arkansas. Virginia enjoyed bowling, dancing, and tending to her vegetable garden.
Virginia is survived by her son William (Karen) Smith of Watervliet; her daughter-in-law Barbara Smith of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters-Lois Baker, Charlene Fithen, Rachel Chadwick and Burnis Norton; three brothers-Jim, Brooks & Frank Billings; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Emery in December 1968, her son Bill Smith in December 1990, and a brother Marshall Billings.
