Catherine A. Festa

Catherine Festa, 96, of Stevensville, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2009 at her daughter’s home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd., Stevensville, MI with Rev. Gordon Barry officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will be held at Hickory Bluff Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, St. Joseph Catholic School, Stevensville United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Catholic School or Berrien County Cancer Service. She married her husband, John C. Festa in Chicago, IL on June 27, 1967. Catherine enjoyed playing cards and watching cooking shows. She loved spending time with her family and she will be dearly missed. Catherine is survived by her children, Camille Sandel of Stevensville, MI, Burton C. (Freya) Festa of California and John A. (Karen) Festa of Little Rock, AR; Sister, Mary George of Elmhurst, IL; Grand-children, David (Edwina) Sandel, Donald (Georgiann) Sandel, Michael (Tameche) Sandel, Karen (Alex) Onedo, Daniel (Khanh) Sandel, Janet (John) Smith, Toni (Larry) Spies, Michael Gioia, Peter (Nicki) Gioia, Jennifer (Jerald) Coffey, Joanna (Jeff) Dawson, David Festa, Amy Festa and Anna (Tim) McMullen and many great grand-children. She is preceded in death by her husband, John on June 3, 2008, Son, Peter Gioia; Son-In-Law, Richard Sandel and brothers, Nicholas, Anthony and Joseph Annecca.
