Lucile Hatie Krieger

Lucile Hatie Krieger, 93, of St. Joseph passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085 with Pastor Gordon Barry officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 17 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Those wishing to send a message of condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Lucile Hatie Krieger was born on September 28, 1916 to Percy and Clara (Scott) Harris in Decatur, MI. She married, Clarence Krieger in Benton Harbor on November 19, 1939. Together, they raised two children, Larry and Janice. She retired from Jackson County Medical Care Facility in 1980 and had been a records clerk for the City of Jackson, MI. Lucile was a member of Stevensville United Methodist Church. She was involved with T.O.P.S weight support chapter in St. Joseph for more than 40 years. Lucile was a volunteer with Shoreham Terrace Nursing Home for 25 years. She enjoyed crafting, traveling, listening to audio books and swimming. Lucile is survived by her son, Larry (Rose) Krieger of Niles, MI and her daughter, Janice (Richard) Pollitt of Crystal Falls, MI; granddaughter, Crystal Johnson of South Bend, IN; step great granddaughter, Tonya Miller; step great great grandchildren, Nicole and Charlie, all of Niles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Clarence August Krieger on February 9, 2006; parents, Percy and Clara Harris and brother, Kenneth Harris.
