Frances J. Luthjohan

Frances “Pete” Luthjohan, 84, of Dowagiac, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. A Celebration of  Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Lonnie T. Carpenter of First Baptist Church of Lawton officiating.  Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cass County Humane Society. Those wishing to share a memory of Frances “Pete” online may do so at www.clarkch.com Frances “Pete” was born February 1, 1931 in Eau Claire, MI to Homer and Stella (Worth) Brant.  She married Carl Henry Luthjohan on January 11, 1952 in Dowagiac, MI.  “Pete” was employed at James Heddon’s Sons and retired from Thermocast International, Inc. in 1993.  She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble. “Pete” enjoyed reading and crocheting and made quilts for all of her friends and family. “Pete” will be dearly missed by her children,  Linda Bohner of Goshen, IN., Carla (Mark) Colley, Mike (Jeanne) Luthjohan, Diana (Scott) Jurgenson  and Carl (Tracy) Luthjohan, all of Dowagiac; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Elma (Arnold) Doberstein of Dowagiac and brother, Frank (Jenny) Brant of Grand Fork, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; her parents; brothers, Henry, Kenneth, Charles, David, and Elmer; sisters, Martha Edith Street and Hatie Keller.
