Ada Bernice Zielke

Ada Bernice Zielke, 85 of St. Joseph, MI, died at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center on Saturday, February 28, 2009. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran, 404 E. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph, MI. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow the service at Hickory Bluff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ada was born to Carl and Pauline (Stienke) Polashak on June 14, 1923 in Sodus, MI. She married Edward Zielke on August 31, 1940 in Sodus, MI. Over the years, Ada was involved with the Ladies Guild of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed many winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. Ada is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Charles) Dewey of Coloma, MI.; Patricia (Harry) Jaeger of St. Joseph; Sandy (George) Stoltz of Barrington, IL and one son, Daniel Zielke of St. Joseph. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Ada was also survived by three sisters, Frieda Cayo of Benton Harbor, Helen Kwast of Grand Rapids and Betty Hafer of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and four siblings, Alex Polashak, Carl Polashak, Anna Davis and Ella Farr.
