Geraldine Flewellen

Geraldine Flewellen, 80, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Timbers of Cass County, Dowagiac, MI. Geraldine was born in Montgomery, Alabama June 8, 1934 to Willie and Maggie Bailey, then moved to Dowagiac in 1960.  She worked at Château Nursing Home where she retired from.  Geraldine was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church, where she served on the Mothers Board and as a Missionary.  Many will remember Geraldine for always having words of  encouragement along with her honest opinion, willingness to help others, and her faith in the Lord. Geraldine leaves behind to cherish her in memory her children: Brenda Denson of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Maggie Johnson of Holland, Michigan; Tammie Williams of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Marcella Smith of Dowagiac, Michigan;  Janice Woodard of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Robert McKinney, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as many friends.  Geraldine is preceded in death by her father and mother Willie and Maggie Bailey, daughter Gracie McKinney, and brothers Howard Bailey and Willie Bailey, Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Second Baptist Church, 203 Paul St., Dowagiac, MI.  A time to pay your respects and visit will be from noon until the time of the service.
