Robert's Obituary

Robert “Bob” Graham, 64, of St. Joseph died unexpectedly Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Lakeland Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, officiated by Rev. Thomas Batsky. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery where there will be military rites conducted. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School, Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, or the donor’s choice. Friends wishing to send a condolence may do so at the guest book at www.starks-menchinger.com Bob was born in Benton Harbor on June 30, 1944 to Charles & Lora (Oblinger) Graham. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines, United States Army, and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. He was the owner/president of Graham’s Janitorial Service since 1981. He married Marcia Stumpf on June 19, 1976 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Bob enjoyed golfing, taking care of his yard, decorating his yard for all the holidays, meeting the breakfast group at Roxy’s, playing yard jarts and ship,captain, and crew. He was a man who loved his family, cared for his employees, and also for people who were less fortunate. Bob is survived by his wife Marcia; a son Mark Graham of St. Joseph; a daughter Mellisa (Jeff) Wendt of Baroda; two grandchildren Kristopher Anstiss and Chandler Graham; step-grandchild Curtis (Leanne) Wendt; three brothers Charles (Pat) Graham of Benton Harbor, Carl (Hope) Graham of Michigan City, IN, Elmer (Joan) Graham of NJ; two sisters Jane Boyd of Baroda and Mary Butler of Watervliet. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Beverly Countryman, Katherine Britt and Ruth Sirk; and his in-laws Philip & Margaret Stumpf.
