Frances M. Geary

Frances M. Geary, 99, of Stevensville, passed away on Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at her home with her loving family present. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, MI. with Msgr. Michael Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation with the family will be before the service on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Frances was born on November 7, 1909 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Emelia (Bellarosa) Grande. She was a piano teacher in Chicago before working at the Berrien County Treasurers office retiring in 1975. She married Joseph Geary in Chicago on September 17, 1938. Together, they raised three children, Joseph, Emily and John. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children, grand-children and great grand-children. Frances is survived by her children, Joseph (Karen) Geary of Belleville, IL, Emily Miller of Stevensville, MI, John (Janet) Geary of Elkhart, IN; 24 grand-children; 23 great grand-children; a sister-in-law, Barbara Grande of Joliet, IL and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph on May 8, 1965 and a brother, Anthony Grande and a sister, Sue Mazza.
