Elsie R. Pond

Elsie “Pat” R. Pond (Crouse), 87, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, November, 7, 2008, at The Willows. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 Monday November 10, 2008 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Koehneke officiating. Mrs. Pond was born November 3, 1921 in Cass Lake, Minnesota to Nicholas & Eva (Swartz) Beringson. On December 5, 1942 she married Dale Crouse in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1969. Mrs. Pond was a housewife and a loving mother to her five children. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking shows and knitting. Mrs. Pond is survived by her five children Jeff (Liz) Crouse of Stevensville, Jim (Laura) Crouse of Benton Harbor, Jack (Eileen) Crouse of Cassopolis, Jon (Rhonda) Crouse of Bridgman and Judy (Tony) Moscardelli of St. Joseph; six grandchildren Anne Crouse, Dale Crouse, Sara Crouse, Christopher Crouse, Anthony Moscardelli, and Gage Lucker; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Bud Pond, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters.
