Beverly J. Wachs

Beverly (Stanton) Wachs, 76, of Stevensville, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Lakeland Continuing Care in Berrien Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Community Center or Birthright. Beverly graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1949. She had many loves in her life, most important was her family and friends followed by her love of bridge. She was a member of the three duplicate bridge groups and had attained her dream of being an “ACBL Silver Life Master” of bridge. Beverly is survived by her husband of 58 years Donald Wachs whom she married on April 15, 1950 in Ashville, N.C.. She is also survived by her daughter Sonja (Larry) Szachta of Rochester, Michigan. She is also survived by three siblings Neil Stanton of South Bend, IN; Jack Stanton of Muncie, IN and Janet Byers of North Royalton, OH. Beverly was preceded in death by her father Hugh Stanton; mother Beryl Morris and here sister Norma Hawkins.
