Kathryn Eloise Rapp

Kathryn Eloise (Callas) Rapp, 87 of Benton Harbor, MI., passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Saron Evangelical Lutheran Church , 510 Main St., St. Joseph. Friends may call from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 on Thursday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saron Luthern Church or Almost Home Animal Shelter in West Bloomfield, MI. Kathryn worked over the years at the Whitcomb, Holly’s, as a manager for over 20 years at the Heath Company cafeteria, for over 15 years at the Benton Harbor Holiday Inn and also at Holly’s Landing and at Cracker Barrel Restaurants. On August 25, 1940 she married Harold Rapp in Chicago, IL. During her lifetime she joined the Merry Mrs. Club, was on many bowling leagues and enjoyed baking cookies for her family and friends. Kay was a member of the St. Joseph Senior Center. Kathryn is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Breyen of Eau Claire, MI; Bonnie Lutz of Royal Oak, MI and Marjorie Heeter of St. Joseph. She is also survived nine grand children (Becki, Michael, Brad, Kelli, Todd, Jennifer, David, Christopher and Sarah) and 4 great grandchildren (Adam, Amber, Hannah and Alex). She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Rapp; her father John Callas; her mother Ruby (Kinyon) Callas; a brother Nick Callas and a nephew John Rapp. `
