David's Obituary
David C. McCauley, 69, of Benton Harbor, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday July 24, 2008 at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William J. Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday July 23, 2008, with prayers recited at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McCauley & Colameta fund for Autism or sent to Care of Institute for Savings, 2 Depot Square, P.O. Box 32., Ipswich MA. 01938. David was born November 26, 1938 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Justin & Elizabeth (Deitch) McCauley. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1956. In June of 1958 he graduated from Community College and Technical Institute in Benton Harbor. David then attended Western Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in January of 1962. On March 24, 1962 he married Sandra Geisler in Ann Arbor. David worked as a teacher at Lake Michigan Catholic High School from 1964 – 1990. David was a member of the Nation Street Rod Association and Eagle Scouts. In his spare time he enjoyed hot rods, mechanics, welding, history, and handy work.
Mr. McCauley is survived by his daughters Kathleen (Steve) Colameta of Ipswich, MA. Patricia McCauley of St. Joseph, Jane (Sean) Monahan of Mazomanie, WI;
nine grandchildren Joshua, Justin, Sandy, Emily, Gilly, Bailey, Ciera, Patrick, Collin; one sister Ellen ( Richard) Rademacher of Stevensville; two brothers Frank McCauley, John (Virginia) McCauley of Ann Arbor; one sister-in-law Caroline McCauley of Orlando, FL; In addition to his parents David was preceded by his wife Sandy McCauley and one brother Peter McCauley.
