Charles Edward Cheney

Charles Edward Cheney, 57, of Dowagiac, MI, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20th, 2014 from 1 P.M. until 3 P.M. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St. Dowagiac. Memorials may be made to Fifth Third Bank of Dowagiac, 205 S. Front Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047, in care of Charles Cheney Memorial Account. Charles married Sheila Tyler on January 1st, 1984. He was known as Mr Fixit, always tinkering with something, when he was asked if something could be fixed, he often replied, “If I can’t fix it, it’s broke”. Charles enjoyed having coffee with his friends in the mornings, fishing when he could, and an occasional beer in the evening. Charles is survived by his mother Betty Cheney of Indianapolis, IN, two daughters Andrea (Frank) Adams, of Elkhart, IN. and Heather (James) Madden of Chicago, IL., and two sons; Charles of Elkhart, IN., Brian of Dowagiac, seven grandchildren; Alexis, Andrew, Aliyah, Donovan, Abbigail, Tyler and Marra, two brothers; Mark and Leroy Cheney, three sisters Sharon Keller, Judy Braniff and Linda Hart, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Richard Cheney.
