Lenard's Obituary

Lenard Adolf Schur, formerly of Dowagiac and Edwardsburg, passed away on Thursday, September 04, 2014 in Niles. He was born September 11, 1937 to Adolf and Emilie (Redman) Schur in Dowagiac. Also surviving are a sister, Anita Tinkey of Dowagiac and a very dear friend, Virginia Harper of Mishawaka. Lenard was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, a brother, Leo and sisters Marie Huff, Lorraine Houston and Loretta Zablocki.  Most of his life he worked in the RV industry in numerous capacities. He was very devoted to his family and was always willing to lend a hand, no matter what the task or project. One of his favorite things to do was take long drives with his loved ones and just see where he would end up. Those rides almost always involved a stop for some ice cream along the way. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center Street in Dowagiac where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Neil Wonnacott of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Bremen, IN. officiating.  Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac.  Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association.  His family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at West Woods of Niles for their compassion and care they gave Lenard and his family. Please take an opportunity to sign his guestbook and leave a condolence or memory of Lenard at www.clarkch.com.
