Ronald Ewing

Ronald Ewing, 60, of Benton Harbor, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. James Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call beginning at 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Ewing was born April 18, 1948 in Monnette, Arkansas to John “Jake” & Valtine “Val” (Hooker) Ewing. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1966. Ron was previously employed as a truck driver at Summit Powders and at Hampton Log & Mill in Riverside. He was a member of American Legion Post #105 of Benton Harbor. In his free time Ron enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all of his family & friends. Ron is survived by his daughters-Rhonda Fay Henry (Mike Collins) & Renea Young, both of Benton Harbor, Deloris Prince of Oceola, Arkansas; step-children-Mary Henry, Steve Henry (Dawn Francis), Chrissy Henry (Phillip Wells), Angel Easter, Samantha Easter & Chris Easter-all of Benton Harbor, Randy Henry of Georgia; eight grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren including special grandson-Mike Henry; his brother Jerry Ewing of Benton Harbor; his sister Patricia (Sonny) Todd of Stevensville; his aunt Juanita White of Benton Harbor; his companion Mary “Sissy” Easter; and his long time loving family & friends-Sandy Henry, Dave Hampton, Mickey Lee, and Larry LaVanway. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Jimmy Ewing, and a step-grandson-Wesley Joseph Henry.
