Dorothy L. Farnum, 89, of Bridgman, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman. Private family services were held at First Congregational United Church of Christ in St. Joseph with Dr. Robert Braman officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverview Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials may be made to First Congregational UCC of which she was a member or to Hospice at Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Farnum was born March 12, 1918 in Millburg, Michigan to Henry & Ethel (Measures) Leatz. On February 27, 1937, she married Eugene Farnum at First Congregational Church in St. Joseph. Dorothy was employed at Rimes & Hildebrand in St. Joseph for many years, and worked as an assistant for Clell K. Johnson, DDS in St. Joseph. Dorothy cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Carol (David) Siewert of Stevensville; her son Robert (Sunny) Farnum of Holland, MI; five grandchildren-Derek (Lara) Siewert, Brian Siewert, Dana Siewert, Todd (Carrie) Farnum, Chad (Hilary) Farnum; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Mary Jane (Duane) Sickels of St. Joseph; two brothers-Donald Leatz of Bridgman & Henry Leatz, Jr. of Royal Oak, MI. In addition to her husband Eugene, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Leatz, and two sisters-Margurite Dove & Annabelle Peckham.
