Debra's Obituary

Debra Kay Ertman, 54, of St. Joseph, formerly of Howards Grove, Wisconsin, went home to be with her Lord & Savior Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Crystal Springs Church of God, 1465 Pipestone Ave., Benton Harbor with Rev. Fred Davey, Rev. Tom Bain & Rev. Dean Pickett officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call beginning 12:30 P.M. Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sheboygan County Campus Life Inc. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Debra was born December 4, 1954 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Oscar & Myrtle (Russell) Hanshaw. She graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1973. On March 1, 1975 she married Kenneth Ertman in Benton Harbor. The family moved to Howards Grove, WI in 1987. Debra was employed at Sheboygan Falls Middle School in Sheboygan Falls for many years. She was a member of Plymouth Alliance Church in Plymouth, WI and a member of the church choir. Her life revolved around the church & her faith in Jesus Christ. The members were her friends and Debra was involved in many of the church activities. She moved back to St. Joseph in January 2007 following the death of her husband Ken on December 25, 2006. Debra is survived by her sons-Brian (Jennie) Ertman of Canton, MI, K. Randy Ertman of Los Angeles, CA; two grandsons-Benjamin & Daniel Ertman; her mother Myrtle Hanshaw of St. Joseph; her sister Glenda (Michael) Krieger of St. Joseph; her extended family; and long time special friends-Harvey & Judy Deam of St. Joseph. In addition to her husband Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her father Oscar Hanshaw in 1996
