Nathan's Obituary
Nathan Lee Jackson, 59, of Benton Harbor, went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at River of Life Church, 8712 Red Arrow Highway, Watervliet, with Rev. Doral Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Nathan was born December 17, 1947 in Columbus, Indiana to Roy & Florence (Shipley) Jackson. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Marine Corp., with three tours of duty in Vietnam & Okinawa. Nathan was formerly employed at Michigan Fruit Canners in Benton Harbor for fifteen years. In 2000, he joined Brookfield Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep Inc. in Watervliet, where he was currently employed. On April 28, 2002, he married the former Nona Ezell in Coloma. Nathan was a loving person & devoted Christian, who never met a stranger. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his spare time, Nathan enjoyed fishing and rooting for the Chicago Cubs & Bears.Nathan is survived by his wife Nona; his children-Tony Lee Jackson, at home, Daniel Jackson of Coloma, Jeffrey Jackson and his companion Atina Edwards of Coloma, Robert Jackson of Stevensville, Christina (Steve) Benny of Pullman, MI, Lance Peterson of South Haven, Jack Peterson and his companion Brandy Murphy of Watervliet; seven grandchildren-Sierra & Cheyenne Benny, Caleb, Payton, Ayden & Keira Jackson, and Jacob Peterson; two brothers-Arnold (Linda) Jackson of St. Joseph, Allen (Phyllis) Jackson of Bridgman; two sisters-Sandra Carlson of Coloma, Vickie (Steve) Luff of Twin Lakes, WI; and many, many friends. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Stanley Edward Jackson in 1978, and by his granddaughter Raylee Peterson in 2004.
