Robert's Obituary

Bob Gilreath, 63, of Stevensville, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, after a valiant fight with cancer. At Bob’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30A.M., Saturday, March 24, 2007, with Pastor John Munson officiating, at Fairplain Presbyterian Church, 210 W. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 23, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairplain Presbyterian Church. Bob was born November 25, 1943, to Glenneth and Trula Mae (Foster) Gilreath, in Whitley City, KY. In 1965 he married the love of his life, Leslie Powell. Bob was retired from Whirlpool Corporation where he had worked as a Global Quality Manager. He liked to spend quality time with his family & friends, enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler, spending much time on several different leagues. He was a long-time member of the Fairplain Presbyterian Church, and also served as former president of the American Society of Quality. Bob is survived by his wife, Leslie, their three children, Grant Gilreath of Port St. Lucie, FL; Erik (Carrie) Gilreath of West Olive, MI; and Melissa Gilreath Cobb of Lombard, IL; four grandchildren, Meaghan, Spencer, Alexandra, and Kierra Gilreath all of West Olive, MI; and one sister, Kathy Smith of Cuba, OH. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Emma Henry; his brother, Jack Gilreath; his grandmother, Emma Foster; and his father-in-law, Thad Powell.
