Wallace Joseph Warren

Wallace “Wally” Joseph Warren, Jr., 65, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Wally was born on November 6, 1941 in Benton Harbor to Wallace and Helen (Schiman) Warren, Sr. He married the love of his life, Wendy VanLandingham on August 26, 1967 at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph where he was a long-time member and usher. Wally proudly served his country for four years in the United States Army. He was a devoted, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather who loved playing cards with his family and friends, and enjoyed golfing and fishing. After more than 35 years of service Wally retired from Whirlpool on Jan. 1, 2001. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2007 from 1:00 PM – 4:00PM at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice At Home, Grace Lutheran or Berrien County Cancer Service. Survivors include his wife Wendy Warren; his five daughters, Suzie Newman of St. Joseph, Jennifer (Matthew) Meyer of Sartell, MN, Julie (Gene) Doerr of Woodstock, IL, Sabrina (Joshua) Hunt of West Lafayette, IN, and Nicole Warren of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren, John (Nichole) Newman; David Newman; Emma, Mary and Jack Doerr; Megan and Kiersten Meyer; Baby Hunt expected in August; one great-granddaughter, Hannah; his mother, Helen Warren; one sister, Judy (Robert) Tahaney ; one brother, Robert Warren .
