Eugene's Obituary
Eugene Lester Farnum, 93, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2006, at Jordan’s Nursing Home, Bridgman. A private service will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Eugene was born in St. Joseph on March 2, 1913, to Lester and Carrie (Gasaway) Farnum. He owned and operated his own gasoline and oil distribution business. He married Dorothy Leatz, on February 27, 1937, in St. Joseph. Eugene is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Carol (David) Siewert of Stevensville; son Robert (Sundeen) Farnum; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Hall, and Louise Griffendorf; and brothers Robert and Theodore Farnum.
