Marilyn Jean Ropp

Marilyn Jean Ropp passed away on September 16th from an extended illness. Marilyn was born to Leo F. and Cleta Marie Cligh on May 27th, 1931 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated in 1948 from Dowagiac Union High School and married Kenneth Carl Ropp June 25, 1949. Marilyn is survived by her dearest children, daughter Lucinda Henderson (Nelson) of Stevensville MI and son Gregory Ropp of El Cajon, CA. Granddaughters Samantha Henderson of Stevensville MI and Meredith Krugh (Jon), great grandchildren Kendra, Blain and Brianna Krugh of St. Joseph MI. Nieces and nephews – Tim & Jeff (Patty) Hippensteel, Lisa Waalkes, Becky (Bob) Turner of Dowagiac, MI, Lori (Greg) Shepard of Holland, MI and their families. Brother in law Raymond Ropp of Kingston, NY and niece Linda Malinowski (Stanley) from Spring Valley, NY. Cousins Gordon Slater of Mission Viejo, CA, Phyllis Matteson of Schoolcraft, MI and Nancy (Gregg) Greider of Lawton MI. In addition cousins of the Ropp and Garling family Carl (Judy) Kopka and Larry Kopka from Francesville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Marie Cligh, husband Kenneth and sister Sharon Hippensteel all of Dowagiac, MI. The family will have a graveside memorial service on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 am (near the maintenance building in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac). In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Cass County Council on Aging, 60525 Decatur Rd., P.O. Box 5, Cassopolis, MI 49031.
