Royce H. Hart

Royce H. Hart, 91, of Watervliet, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2006 at South Haven Community Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Mrs. Hart was born February 4, 1915 in Baroda, Michigan to Paul H. & Arminta M. (Brown) Ringo. She attended Stewart School in Stevensville. On September 15, 1934, she married Philip Hart in South Bend, Indiana. Royce was employed as a nurses aide in the nursery at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, retiring in 1990 after 20 plus years. She enjoyed history, genealogy, and flower gardening. Royce was a member of the Genealogy Society of SW Michigan, the Berrien County Mineral Society, and the Cleburne County Historical Society in Arkansas. Mrs. Hart is survived by two daughters-Phyllis (Arlen) Ward of McCormick, SC, Jackie (Floyd) Selvidge of Heber Springs, AK; two sons-Delbert (Elaine) Hart of Benton Harbor, Alfred (Eileen) Hart of Watervliet; eight grandchildren-Mark (Bernie) VanOsdal of Tampa Bay, FL, Pam (Rodney)Perkins of Peron, AK, Floyd Selvidge, Jr. of Heber Springs, AK, Kathy (Robert) Rohrman of Eau Claire, WI, Alfred Hart, II, of Honolulu, Hawaii, Wendy (David) Bulat of Watervliet, Michael Hart of Benton Harbor, Gregory Hart of Buchanan; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother Kent (Caroline ) Ringo of Cherry Hill, NJ; and many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Philip on July 23, 1989.
