Albert D. Meadows

Albert “Doyle” Meadows, 69, of Three Oaks, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Mike Schoeplein officiating. Burial will follow in New Troy Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 14, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Albert was born to Imogene Meadows on October 16, 1936, in Caraway, AR. He married Nettie “Sue” Stewart (Dotson) on July 18, 1987, in Bridgman. He served in the U.S. Army. Albert worked for Stanley Knight in New Troy for many years before he retired. After retirement he ran his own small excavating business. Albert enjoyed fishing, gardening, and his grand pugs Pugsey, Princess, and Gracie. He was a very giving, simple, and honest man. He was a very loving and loyal husband, father, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Albert is survived by his wife Nettie “Sue”; children- Michelle (Christopher) Barnes of St. Joseph, Kathy (Ted) Nehring of Lawrence, Troy (Mary) Dotson of Allegan, Tina Durian of Paw Paw, and Ricky Dotson of FL; grandchildren- Jonathan Nehring, Max Dotson, Joshua Durian, Tonya Durian, Matthew Durian, and Nathan Durian; brothers- Nick Bacon of AZ, John Bacon of AZ, and Andy Bacon of AZ; and sisters- Brenda Callaway of OR, Hope Bacon of OR, Wanda Bacon of OR, and Jennifer Bacon of AZ. Albert was preceded in death by his mother and first wife Mary Jane Meadows.
