Mario's Obituary

Mario’s life began on July 22, 1963 in Muleshoe, Texas, the son of Domingo and Guadalupe (Vega) Fonseca. He was employed as an automotive detailer and worked in construction. Mario loved to dance and have a good time. He had been a member of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse. Mario enjoyed breaking and showing horses, hunting and old western movies. His loving family includes his children Mario Mychael (Ashley) Fonseca of South Haven, Amberyn (Roman) Fonseca- Estrada of Hartford, Lucas (Briana) Fonseca of Hartford and Giovanni Human of Tennessee; grandchildren Rowan Fonseca, Kensley Fonseca, Kassidy Root, Kaylene Savage, Kyla Hopkins, Serenity Hopkins, Brittnay Estrada, Kellen Estrada, Lucadis Fonseca, and Cain Fonseca; siblings Johnny (Kathy) Fonseca of Marcellus, Mary Lou (Manual) Salas of Dowagiac, Abel (Rosa) Fonseca of Eau Claire, Yolanda Martinez of Eau Claire, Sylvia Fonseca of Eau Claire, Roy Fonseca of St. Joseph, Antonio (Isa) Fonseca of Austin, TX, and Irene Fonseca of Berrien Springs, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. Mario passed away at home on Thursday June 6, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church led by Father Kevin Covert. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in Mario’s name may be directed to the Berrien County Youth Fair.
