Ona Marie Mortimore-Miller

Ona’s life began on June 30, 1939 in Decatur, the daughter of Earl and Sylvia (Baldwin) Mortimore. She is a graduate of Decatur High School. Ona worked as a senior companion at Lawton Continued Care. She was an avid doll collector and she enjoyed doing her craft work. She was united in marriage to Marlin Miller on January 15, 1970 in Decatur. Her loving family includes her children Lonnie Mortimore, Tina Maria (Javier) Jimenez, both of Decatur, Howard (Cindy O’Neil) Miller of Hartford, Marlin Miller of Decatur, April (Darren) Williams of Bangor, and Terry (Angel Lightfoot) Mortimore of Decatur, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister in law Beatrice Mortimore of Decatur and brothers Melvin (Diane) Mortimore of Lawton and Merle (Gail) Mortimore of Decatur. Ona passed away at her home on Wednesday June 5, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, sister Bonnie Mortimore, and brother Maurice Mortimore. Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel, Dowagiac where her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. led by Pastor Mike Heflin. She will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the family in care of Lonnie.
