Yasu Yonei Imler, 75, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. On June 18, 1954 she married Robert Henry Imler in Japan. To this union was born 6 children. She became a U.S. citizen in 1981. Yasu loved her home and family and was a devoted wife and mother. She was an honorable person who was always generous, friendly, and kind to everyone. She was always willing to help out any one she could. She loved cooking and baking. Particularly she loved gardening. Every year she had a large vegetable garden and did much canning. Her favorite gardening was flowers. Each spring she would plant all kinds of flowers and especially took pride in her beautiful rose garden. Yasu would often sit and relax in her back yard looking at the farm in all its beauty. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. This is what gave her life most meaning. She was always so happy to be with them and nothing was more precious to her. She will be remembered everyday by her family and will be missed greatly. She is survived by her husband Robert of 51 years; her children, Jenny(Dale) Wilson of Michigan City, IN, Robert(Chandra) Imler, Jr. of Berrien Springs, Charles(Joan Ubele) of St. Joseph, Diane(Michael) Mannino of Benton Harbor, and Joetta(Mitchel) Coffman of Dublin, OH; seven grand children; a brother, Tokuaki Yonei of Japan; four sisters, Sachiko Seith of Tampa, FL, and Haruko Sato, Toyoko Hayashi, & Kazuko Arai all of Japan. Yasu was preceded in death by a son, Ricky James Imler, and her parents.
