Eunice's Obituary
Eunice’s life began on January 12, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Burand) Hagemann. She was united in marriage to Carl R. Miller on October 1, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana. Eunice was employed for twenty years at Rudy Manufacturing in Dowagiac until the age of 57 at which time she retired. She leaves two sons, William L. (Chris) Miller of Dayton, OH., and Carl W. (Linda) Miller of Niles, MI., four grandchildren: Steve Miller of Kettering, OH., Sonja (Abdul) Thornbloom of Dublin, Ohio, Jeffery W. (Kim) Miller of Chicago, IL., and Tracy (Dave) Balke of Morton Grove, IL., and eight great grandchildren. Eunice had three brothers, Chester Hagemann of FL., Frank Hagemann, Jr., of Dowagiac, Marvin Hagemann of Chicago and one sister, Ruth Brown of Republic, MO., who all preceded her in death. Eunice passed away on Sunday, May 19, at the Cass County Medical Care Facility. Eunice was a member of the Dowagiac Moose 933 ladies auxiliary, the Eagles of Dowagiac, the Dowagiac VFW auxiliary, the Elk’s Antlerettes and a past member of the Englewood, FL., United Methodist Church. Eunice loved her grandchildren and her two boys. She loved playing BINGO and attending the many activities at the Englewood, FL., Holiday Estates community clubhouse. She was also involved in the Kalamazoo chapter of the “Old Car Club”. She loved fishing and always enjoyed good times with her husband, Carl.There will be a gathering of family and friends at Yazel & Clark Chapel in Dowagiac on Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with a memorial service at 1 p.m. lead by Father Dan Scheid of Benton Harbor. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. After the committal service, a dinner for the family will be held at the Moose Lodge in Dowagiac on M-51 N. to share a time of fellowship and memories of Eunice. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Lakeland Hospice in lieu of flowers. Yazel & Clark Chapel is serving the family.
