Mary Abel, 83, of St. Joseph passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Shanghai Cemetery, Eau Claire. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mary was born October 28, 1921, in Sodus, Michigan, to Charles & Lola (Moore) Goldner. After her graduation from high school, she married her husband Jack Abel. Although they had no children, ?Aunt Mary? devoted her life to making her home a warm, loving place for her husband and her many siblings, nieces, and nephews. She truly came to life in the presence of family. Her kind and gentle spirit will not only be remembered but will live on in us forever. Mary is survived by her sister, Wava Demchinski of St. Joseph; her brother, Robert (Dorothy) Goldner of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law Ann and Sophie Goldner; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Abel; her parents, Charles and Lola Goldner; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo (Peggy) Goldner, Charles (Alma) Goldner, Warren Goldner, Lawrence (Jane) Goldner, Raymond Goldner; brother-in-law Al Demchinski; her sisters and brothers ?in-law, Eva (Burt) Jewell, Edna (David) Prediger, Lila (Eldon) Green.
