Dale's Obituary

Dale E. “D.J.” Cotterman, Jr., 35, of Three Oaks, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Dale was born December 3, 1969 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Dale E. & Rita J. (Kiser) Cotterman. He was employed at Great Lakes Metal Stamping in Bridgman for the last 1 1/2 years. Before moving to this area, D.J. was a member of the Southmont Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed paint balling, darts, hunting and fishing. Dale was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan, but most of all enjoyed anything and everything about NASCAR. He had the opportunity to meet Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and work as part of his team for a race in Hampton, Georgia. D.J. is survived by his parents, Dale Sr. & Rita Cotterman of Coloma; two sisters-Yvette (Allan) Burkett of Hampton, GA, Jennifer Hyatt of Coloma; his maternal grandmother Mildred Kiser of Johnstown, PA; a nephew Christopher Hyatt; and two nieces-Ashley Burkett and Faith Hyatt.
