Andrejs “Andy” Herman Strebs, 57, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00A.M. Monday, June 20, 2005, at Washington Avenue Church of God, 4051 Washington Ave., in St, Joseph, with Rev. Andreas Hannich officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call on the family at the church beginning 9:00A.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. Andy was born on December 27, 1947, in Wurzburg, Germany. He was one of 5 children born to Herman and Marija Strebs. He later moved with his family to the United States and served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1971. On October 12, 1968 he married Donna Brown in Watervliet. To this union was born two children- Adrian and Dana. Andy loved the outdoors and working on cars. He particularly enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing. Andy is survived by Donna, his wife of 36 years; his son Adrian Strebs and daughter Dana (Jeffrey) Holtman, both of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren – Meadow and Jude Strebs, Cameron, Harmony, and Aria Holtman; his father Herman (Valija) Strebs of Wisconsin; his mother Marija Strebs of St. Joseph; 2 brothers?Wally Strebs, Martin Linda) Strebs; 1 sister?Laima Van Horn.
