Robert Lee Caston, Sr., 50, of Benton Harbor, caught the ?Train of Glory? on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his home. Robert stepped aboard and continued his journey of eternity with his Lord. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 12:00 Noon at Community Church of God in Christ, 870 Nate Wells, Sr. Dr., Benton Harbor, with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, April 6 between 4:00 and 8:00 P.M. at the Kerley ? Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory or send their condolences may do so on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Robert was born on September 12, 1954 in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the only child of Robert Allen and Eva Mae Caston. Robert formerly lived in Champaign, IL until meeting Cheryl A. Scates. They were married on March 1, 1991 and made Benton Harbor their permanent home. Robert was a loyal and dedicated employee at IPC Printing Service. There he was recognized for perfect attendance for the year of 2003. He also took great pride in being recognized by his fellow employees for being a loyal and dedicated employee and for ?always going the extra mile.? His spare time was filled with his love of fishing, working on old cars, and in helping his family and friends with their mechanical problems. Robert has also had a passion for bowling and was a member of the ABC Bowling Association. His career in bowling earned his several awards and trophies, and he was always willing to share his talents and bowling techniques to help other bowlers improve upon their own game. Roberts is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his children, Latonya Brown, Robert L. Caston, Jr., and Anthony Brown all of Champaign, IL and Anthony (Nicole) Caston of Jefferson City, MO; his parents Robert Allen of California and Eva Mae Caston of Champaign, IL; his sisters-in -law, Anna Scates, Loretta (Albert Jones) Johnson, and Brenda (Raymond) Reed; seven grand-children; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his God sister, Aldondra Mc Farland; God son, Marshawn Scates; special cousin, Derrick Caston; special nephew, Kevin Scates, Sr.; special aunt, Susie Cotton; special friends Tony Terrell, Shary Thomas, Dan Krajecki, and many, many more. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Henretta Caston.
