Eugene ?Gene? Ruhno, 80, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005 in New Port Richey, Florida where he had spent his winters since 1987. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Philip Quardokus officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hernando Pasco Hospice. He served his country during WWII in the US Army Air Force. On August 8, 1945 he married the former Lydia Ruppel in St. Joseph. Gene retired as a salesman & supervisor for Ward Baking Company-Kreamo Bread Distributors in Benton Harbor after 40 years of service. Gene was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stevensville. Mr. Ruhno is survived by his wife Lydia; his son Ronald Ruhno of Cadillac, MI; three daughters-JoAnn (Kenneth) Giltner of Evart, MI, Sue Ellen (Gary) Evett of Coloma, Debra (Victor) Lawrick of St. Joseph; four grandsons-David, Aaron & Ryan Ruhno, Drew Lawrick; two great-granddaughters-Kathryn & Emily Ruhno; a sister Margaret Ruhno of Stevensville; and a brother Marshall (Alice) Ruhno of Lansing, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step father-Henry Ruhno; two brothers-Earl & Raymond Ruhno; and two sisters Dorothy Mosimann & Evelyn Ruhno.
