Ellen Marie Schrock

Ellen Marie Schrock, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was born July 23, 1922 and died March 24, 2005. She has joined her husband Sterling W. Schrock, in God?s loving care. She is survived by three siblings – Leo Megli, Edna Selig and Rosemary Harms, all of the Sterling/Rock Falls, Illinois area. Ellen is also survived by four children – Priscilla ?Prill? (Paul) Snelling, Sterling R. ?Pete? (Joanne) Schrock, John (Sue) Schrock and Melinda Lambert. Her grandchildren include Joel, Joshua and Matthew Snelling; Ellen and Madeline Schrock; Katie and Peter Schrock, and Shaun and Dale Lambert. She also has a cherished great-granddaughter Audrianna Snelling. Ellen, true to her loving and caring nature, was proud to have been a registered nurse. She was an accomplished artist as well and decorated her home with numerous beautiful paintings. She loved to be in her garden and was most proud of her beautiful many colored roses for which she was well known in her neighborhood. Ellen fondly remembered her childhood and teen years growing up on farms in Kansas and Illinois with her brothers and sisters. Ellen married Sterling W. Schrock after his return from service in World War II. They raised their family in homes in Dixon, Illinois; Escanaba, Michigan; Hancock, Michigan and Okemos, Michigan. At the time of her death, she resided in St. Joseph, Michigan and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of St. Joseph, Michigan. Arrangements are being handled by Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, Michigan, where visitation will take place Monday, March 28, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 P.M. ., Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco Court, St. Joseph, Michigan. Ellen will be buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Dixon, Illinois, on Wednesday, March 30, 2005.
