Kenneth's Obituary
Kenneth’s life began on May 10, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Alfred J. and Margaret (Garner) Hughes. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning four bronze stars for his service. Kenneth was a truck driver in civilian life and rode the highways for 42 years. He enjoyed travelling our country, occasionally chasing “wild women”, hunting and fishing. His loving family includes his sisters Pat (Ed Fairbanks) Clemons of Benton Harbor, and Almagene Hughes of Harrison, AR, and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth passed away on Thursday March 28, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Clois Hughes, Priscilla Hughes-Williams, and Jerry Dale Hughes. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Hamilton Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans.
