Raymond's Obituary

Raymond Goldner, 85, of St. Joseph, passed away on April 19, 2005 at Lakeland Hospital-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Rev. Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, April 22, 2005, from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Raymond was born January 22, 1920, in Benton Harbor, to Charles & Lola (Moore) Goldner. On July 6, 1940 he married his wife of nearly 65 years in South Bend, Indiana. He entered into the U. S. Army in 1944 and is veteran of WWII. Ray received a Good Conduct Metal and a Bronze Star for his bravery while on a reconnaissance mission. After 41 years of loyal employment, Mr. Goldner retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1982. While Ray enjoyed fishing, and he loved his gardening, his true passion in life was his family, whom he loved more than anything else on earth. Ray is survived by his wife Sophie; his three daughters?Judy (Robert) Cronk and Janet Carlson, both of St. Joseph, Karen (David) Randolph of Stevensville; sisters?Wava Demchinski and Mary Abel, both of St. Joseph; brother Robert (Dorothy) Goldner of Benton Harbor; five grandchildren?Erik, Blake & Aron Carlson, Laura Cronk and Courtney Pyatte; two great-grandchildren?Adelyn & Jacob Pyatte.
