Robert L. Miller

Robert La Rue Miller passed away on Monday, October 11, in Albuquerque New Mexico in the company of his family. Born in Chicago on December 30, 1922, son of Chester La Rue and Charlotte Miller, he graduated Benton Harbor High School, and served in the U.S. Navy until May 1946. He married Elaine Rauh of Benton Harbor in 1949. They made their first home in St. Joseph where they had their two children. Working with General Motors, the family moved on to other residences over the years in St. Louis & Kansas City,Missouri, and Aurora & Winfield Illinois. After losing his wife Elaine in 1982, Bob moved to Albuquerque to be near his daughter?s family where he enjoyed years of retirement. He is survived by his daughter Jann Chavez (Theodore Chavez) of Albuquerque New Mexico; his son, Robin Miller (John Mastick) of Sebastopol, California; grandchildren, Jessica, Julian & Sonya Chavez; sisters-in-law, Anita Rauh & Carol Truhn; brother-in-law, William Rauh and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service Friday October 15 at 11:30 AM at Kerley-Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Memorials may be made to the donor?s choice.
