John's Obituary

Johnny Shipkosky, 14, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave. St. Joseph with Rev. Chris Spitters & Rev. Robert Confer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial may be made to First Church of God Youth Group. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Johnny was born November 6, 1989 in St. Joseph to John W. & Dorothy (Zielke) Shipkosky. He was an eighth grade student at Upton Middle School in St. Joseph. Johnny was a member of the First Church of God where he was an active participant of the youth group. He volunteered at the Curious Kid?s Museum in St. Joseph. Johnny was a fun loving young man that enjoyed baseball, skateboarding, cooking, music, and video games. He will be sadly missed by his family & friends. Johnny is survived by his parents John & Dot Shipkosky of St. Joseph; his brother-Daniel Hadley of St. Joseph; grandparents-Stanley Shipkosky of St. Joseph, Viola Hollaway of West Monroe, LA; Robert & Randa Zielke of Scotts Hill TN, Patrice Nelson of Benton Harbor; and two special friends-David Mangold & Daniel Combs.
