Eileen's Obituary
Eileen Anne Heinze Globensky,
Mrs. Richard James Globensky, 75, long-time resident of St. Joseph, Michigan, died Wednesday, May 19, at Witcomb Towers in St. Joseph after a long illness.
Born in Chicago, IL, to Fredrick George Heinze II and Eileen Estelle Powers, Eileen Anne Heinze Globensky grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma; St. Joseph, Michigan, and Palm Beach, Florida. She earned a bachelor?s degree from Trinity College, Washington D.C., and studied interior design at the Art Institute of Chicago.
In 1953 she married Richard James Globensky and moved to 474 Ridgeway, where they built a home designed by Chicago architect I W Colburn and raised six children.
Eileen H. Globensky valued her family and church. She instilled in her children a deep faith in God, curiosity through travel, interest in the arts, and the joy of throwing great parities. She generously opened her home and heart to entertain extended family and friends. During her life, Mrs. Globensky served on the boards of trustees for Lake Michigan Catholic Schools, St. Joseph, MI; La Lumiere School, La Port, IN, and the YWCA, and was co-leader of local Washington school girl scout troop #207.
Eileen Anne Heinze Globensky loved beauty and extravagance. She brought style to everything she did from wearing her signature bright orange lipstick to decorating her home on Lake Michigan and entertaining there.
She is preceded in death by her husband Richard J. Globensky and brother F. George Heinze III and is survived by her sister Mary Anne Romano of Milan, Italy, and her children, Mark Heinze (Elizabeth) Globenky of St. Joseph, MI; Anne Brigid Globensky of Milwaukee, WI; Richard Gavin (Deborah) Globensky of Augusta, GA; Eileen Estelle (Dominique) Faury of San Jose, CA; Dion James (Christine) Globensky of Union Pier, MI; and Nora Globensky (Devin) Blum of Potomac, MD, as well as nine grandchildren.
