Bernard J. Puskala

Bernie Puskala, 56, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, December 02, 2003, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Chaplain Kristopher P. Zygowiec officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may call on Friday from Noon til 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Oncology Department. He had been employed as a finisher at Sligh Furniture in Holland. On December 2, 1988, Bernie married the former Delores Rouse at their home in St. Joseph. Bernie is survived by his wife Delores; his mother Ruth Puskala of Benton Harbor; his son Ben Puskala of Lansing, MI; his daughter Erinn Puskala of St. Joseph; three step-daughters-Angela Schreiner of Brown City, MI; Shannon Schreiner of Denver CO; Kari (David) Visser of St. Joseph; six grandchildren; and a brother James (Wanda) Puskala of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Bernice Williams.
