Karl Gerstenkorn

Karl Gerstenkorn, 90, of Stevensville, passed away on Thursday, April 03, 2003, at Golden Place Assisted Living Facility in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 7, 10:00AM, at St. Matthew?s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Corner of Colfax & Kline in Benton Harbor, with Rev. Martin Weigand officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. Friends may call on Sunday, from 2:00 till 5:00PM, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. On May 26, 1936 he married Frieda Jenk, she survives him. He was a member of St. Matthew?s Lutheran Church, and also a member of the St. Joe Kickers Sport Club. Mr. Gerstenkorn was a tool & die maker, having retired in 1978 from Bendix Corporation. Survivers are his wife Frieda; a son, Erhard (Renate) Gerstenkorn of Stevensville; two daughters, Hildegard (Siegfried) Lehmann of Stevensville, and Ingrid (Peter) Wadel of Ludington; a brother, Helmut Gerstenkorn of Stevensville; a sister, Irene Broja of Wolfsburg, Germany; nine grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Horst; a sister Brangele; and brothers Robert, Wilhelm, and Albert.
