Marie-Louise Lou Hawks

Marie’s life began on April 23, 1926 in Brasseux, Belgium, the daughter of Maurice and Germaine (Noel) Caroli. She was united in marriage to Aubrey Hawks on April 26, 1945 in Liege, Belgium. She immigrated to the United States when Aubrey’s returned stateside after serving in the United States Army Air corps during World War II. Marie was a member of the Dowagiac Art Guild for many years and loved all expressions of the arts. Her loving family includes her children James (Kande) Hawks of Berrien Springs, Michael (Margaret) Hawks of Three Rivers and Timothy Hawks of Belleville, IL, grandchildren James T. Hawks, Jeffrey Hawks, Ann McDonough, Stephanie Lodholtz and Brian Hawks, eight great grandchildren and one sister Marie Josie (Remy) Molders of Liege, Belgium. Marie passed away on Monday April 16, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey, and a brother Hubert Caroli. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday from 11 -1 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday led by Reverend John Kasper.
