Barbara's Obituary
Barbara Ann (Jones) Liedtke, 60, of Benton Harbor went
peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on
Monday December 17Th 2001 at her Home. She was
surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the
First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Road, and St. Joseph.
Officiating will be Pastor Dan Miller. Visitation will be from
5:00 to 8:30 Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family
Funeral Home 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Entombment
will be at North Shore Memory Garden Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God, the
church where she was a member, or Hospice at home.
She was born May 2, 1941 in Hayti Mo. Barbara accepted the
Lord as her savior at the age of 10 and faithfully served God
all her Life.
She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1959.
She met her husband Albert Liedtke at the First Assembly of
God Church and they were united in marriage there on
September 16, 1961
Barbara loved children dearly she started as a Sunday school
teacher and went on to become leader of the Children?s
Church Ministry for 10 years. Through her ministry many
young lives were touched.
Her devoted and loving husband Albert Liedtke survived her.
One son Jonathan (Vickie) Liedtke of Coloma one grand son
Dillon Joseph Liedtke who brought much joy to her life;
mother and father Edwin & Dorothy Jones of Benton Harbor
MI; four sisters Sondra (Herschel) Newton of Benton Harbor,
MI; Carol (David) Shepherd of Benton Harbor, MI; Shirley
(Robert) Blaylock of Kalamazoo, MI; Melinda (Bob) Perkey
of Coloma MI; many nieces & nephews; aunts & uncles who
will miss her dearly and a special Aunt Betty McCoy of
Coloma, MI.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Mildred and
Harvey Sheleton, Fred and Vera Jones, and Raymond Brewer.
Barbara was a very special, elegant lady and will be greatly
missed by family and friends alike.
