Forest's Obituary

Wayne’s life began on April 15, 1936 in Dowagiac, the son of Thomas J. and Martha (Archer) Kent. He was a graduate of Cassopolis Schools and served his country in the United States Air Force. Wayne was employed by Clark Equipment in Buchanan, Jessup Door, JAC and Ameriwood Industries. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jean (Lace) Kent, who precedes him in death, on August 2, 1958 in Dowagiac and to Sue (Milks) Kent on June 6, 1997 in Cassopolis. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, and was a member of Wakelee United Methodist Church where he enjoyed the wood cutters club. His loving family includes his wife Sue Kent of Cassopolis, children Forest Steven (Brenda) Kent of Cassopolis, Alan Wayne(Cathy) Kent of Yuba City, CA, Lori Jean (Chris) Kent-High of Bloomfield, NJ, step children Emily and Sarah Snyder, grandchildren Paul, Tyler, Olivia, Daniel, Trevor and Kristen Kent, Christopher (Ana) High, Ericka ( Gary) Ellerbusch, Alexis (Steve) Albrecht and Alisha High, great grandchildren Kensie, and Evie Jean Albrecht, Caden Kent High, Cael Luis High and Tayt Christopher Ellerbusch, step granddaughter Brennah Snyder, sisters Betty (Terry) McKenzie of Three Rivers, and Carolyn (George) Samko of Ohio, and brother Jerry Kent of Arizona. Wayne passed away at his home on Friday December 16, 2011. His family will gather with friends on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wakelee United Methodist Church led by Pastor John Messner.
