Anna Mary Kidman

Anna’s life began on May 3, 1923 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Ignacy and Mary Margaret (Krzyzanski) Lewandowski. She was a 1941 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School. Anna was united in marriage to Terrence Kidman on November 20, 1943 at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac. She was 20 year volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Dowagiac and a faithful parishioner of Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. Anna was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at church and volunteered at many funeral dinners. She loved playing bingo sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Anna was well known for her polish sausage recipe and many favorite treats on Dyngus Day each year. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Susan (Tom ) Peterson of Euless, TX, Philip (Mary Ann) Kidman of Dowagiac, Lisbeth Kidman of Ojai, CA, George (Carol) Kidman of Tarpon Springs, FL, Teresa (Michael ) Jackson of Dowagiac, Andrew ( Judi) Kidman of Dowagiac and Therese (Jim) Winters of Dowagiac, daughter in law Sandy Kidman of Cassopolis and son in law David Curtwright of Escondido, CA, 31 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, sister Mary Lawrence of Dowagiac and several nieces and nephews. Anna passed away on Wednesday October 19, 2011 at Riveridge Manor in Niles. She is preceded in death by her husband Terrence, a daughter Jeanne Curtwright, a son Stephen F. Kidman, her brother Henry Lewandowski, and sisters Sabina Nash, Stella Plucienik ,Jenny Nusbaum and Helen Lewandowski. Her family will gather with friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. led by Father Kevin Covert. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Riveridge Manor Activity Fund or Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church.
