Kenneth's Obituary

Kenneth’s life began on January 13, 1930 in Albion, MI, the son of Minet and Maude Frances (Crabb) McCartney. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Kenneth was united in marriage to the former Pauline Hissong on November 25, 1951 in Plymouth, IN. He worked as a pipefitter for Ball Band and later for Uniroyal in Mishawaka. Kenneth was a faith filled member of the Calvary Bible Church. He loved spending time with his family and was well known for making apple butter with his family and friends. Kenneth was a farmer at heart and loved to fish and hunt. He was very fond of eating blueberries and enjoyed bowling. His loving family includes his wife of 59 years Pauline McCartney of Dowagiac, children Bonnie (Robert) Pierce of Dowagiac, Wayne (Denise) McCartney of Monee, IL, Janet (Dan) Wishart of Cassopolis, and Roger (Melissa) McCartney of Plymouth, IN, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sister Sharon Grady of Mishawaka, and brothers Keith McCartney of Osceola, Norman McCartney and Larry McCartney, both of Mishawaka, and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth passed away on Monday October 17, 2011 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by two sisters Evelyn Smith and Frances Runnels, and two brothers Lee and James McCartney. His family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Kenneth’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Calvary Bible Church led by Pastor Robert Vickroy. He will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles.
