Clifford Francis Kryst

Clifford's life began on March 9, 1923 in Chicago, the son of John and Jenny (Yager) Kryst. Second Lieutenant Clifford Kryst served his country in the United States Army Aircorps during World War II at a B-24 bomber pilot. He was united in marriage to the former Rita Navratil on May 10, 1947 in Chicago. Clifford was a self employed plumber working out of Local 130 in Chicago. He and Rita made their home in Sister Lakes where they attended Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Clifford had been a member of the Sister Lakes Lions Club. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife of 64 years Rita of Sister Lakes, children Linda (Patrick) McDonnell of Moneta, VA and Glenn (Elizabeth) Kryst of West Bend, WI., grandchildren Tracey (Brian) Wysor, Rick (Diane) McDonnell, Bradley Kryst, Daniel (Amy) Kryst, Jennifer Kryst, Justin Kryst, and Timothy Kryst, great grandchildren Sylvia Wysor, Evan Wysor, Eli Wysor, Ashley McDonnell and Madyson Johnson, and one sister Genevieve Pouliot of Saratoga Springs, NY and several nieces and nephews. Clifford passed away on Monday July 25, 2011 at Caretel in St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his grandson Marine Corps Captain Kevin Kryst on December 18, 2006 in Iraq and by his sister Theresa Dorigan, and brothers Harry and Raymond Kryst. His family will gather with friends on Friday from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. EST at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church (29961 Leach Rd. Dowagiac, MI. 49047) where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. EST by Father Kevin Covert. He will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery.
